Yoga changed my life. It has been said by many people, many times before and I am sure this will continue to be the case but it is nothing short of the truth. The most meaningful and powerful changes in my life began to happen as my practice with yoga deepened. It was because of my practice that my life began to gain meaning. Yoga was not something I tip-toed my way into, it was not a slow progression, I dove in. Before I had even stepped foot into a studio I had this idea of yoga that it was something happy, fulfilled people did. So I thought I would give it a try. I needed healing, I needed a sense a peace in my life. Whether it was a higher power and/or the universe that sent me there but the very first studio I walked into was the right one. For the first class I walked into a room full of the most light I had ever experienced. I was HOME. There was something special there. Within a year I began seriously studying the practice. I learned that it wasn’t as simple as just choosing happiness or ignoring negativity, I had to get deep with myself. I had to become brutally honest and not be afraid to confront my pain. It is a process, one that I am sure I will continue to experience but it is well worth it. This blog is my journey, the highs, lows and everything in between.
